Humanitarian Award

Established in 2008, the Humanitarian Award recognizes graduates of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry who have contributed to the betterment of the world by their selfless alleviation of suffering among those in need, bringing honor to themselves and the University. The recipient is chosen by the School of Medicine and Dentistry Alumni Council.

Terry Jean Yonker

Terry Jean Yonker has dedicated her nursing career to improving the health and well-being of patients in her rural community. Her award-winning telemedicine programs deliver specialty care to underserved areas. A tireless volunteer, her medical mission work has bridged cultural di erences and profoundly touched the lives of needy children and families here and in Central and South America.
